Letā€™s talk about your thank you pages.

Iā€™ve been working the past few weeks on my upcoming 5 Days of Deals Black Friday Sale (it begins November 25th – Iā€™ll share a sneak peek next week!).

One of the things I have been creating are thank you pages once someone purchases to let them know their order is complete.Ā  Typically mine are pretty basic pages where I say thank you and direct them to check their inbox for their download.

However, Iā€™ve decided to spice things up this year and freshen up my thank you pages, so Iā€™ve been doing some research on different types of thank you pages because these thank you pages are a great opportunity to keep customers engaged and even encourage further actions.

Here are are 8 effective strategies Iā€™ve recently learned about for making the most of your thank you pages (these ideas work great for both physical and digital product sellers):

1. Encourage Social Sharing

Add social sharing buttons so your customers can share their purchase on Instagram or Facebook.

Tip: Provide pre-written, shareable posts or images, especially if the item is something they’d be proud to show off.

2. Invite Your Customers to Join Your Community

If you have a Facebook group or online community where they can interact with other buyers, pop the link to join on your thank you page!Ā  This will work especially well if you are a brand with a passionate following or products that encourage user creativity or improvement.

3. Upsell or Cross-Sell Related Products

Put recommend items that complement what they just purchased oon your thank you page.Ā  For example, if someone buys a notebook, suggest pens or stickers.

Tip: Offer a one-time discount code on the thank you page to encourage a quick follow-up purchase.

4. Ask them to Sign up for Your Affiliate Program.

Mention your affiliate program if you have one, and shar the sign up link so they can join right then and there.

Donā€™t have an affiliate program yet? Keep an eye out for Day 4 of my upcoming Black friday 5 Days of Deals Sale!

5. Feature an “Unboxing Guide” or Tips for Using the Product

For physical products that need a bit of setup or special care, provide an “unboxing guide” or a quick-start guide.Ā  Include tips, maintenance suggestions, or tutorials that enhance the experience of using the product.

6. Ask them Subscribe to Your Newsletter

Encourage them to join your newsletter to receive product updates, special offers, or tips.Ā  Put the opt in box right there on the thank you page.

7. Show your Customer Support Contact Info

Make it easy for them to get in touch with you or your customer service team if they have any questions.Ā  Showing that you’re ready to help will increase trust and gives them peace of mind as a new customer.

8. Display a Timeline for Their Purchase Process

Show them a brief timeline for order processing, shipping, and expected delivery.Ā  This sets clear expectations and can reduce support requests and those ā€œHas my order shipped yet?ā€ emails.

Thank you pages are a great opportunity to create a more memorable customer experience and to potentially increase sales of your products.Ā  I encourage you to use one or two of the ideas above on your own sales pages!
